Frequently Asked Questions About Scoring at an AP® Reading Site

Upon receiving an invitation to the Reading, you will receive access to the Reader Registration website. This website contains information and instructions about making travel arrangements. Travel expenses, lodging, and meals are covered.

Readers are provided with lodging at a hotel that is typically within walking distance of the convention center. Ground transportation is provided in the event that the hotel is not within walking distance. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the convention center.

A variety of optional evening activities are scheduled, and these activities vary by subject. Some examples include subject-specific professional presentations, receptions, and local outings. Some subjects host evening workshops providing opportunities to network with colleagues and exchange best practices.

Meal options include a variety of food to accommodate most participants, such as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-friendly diets. Special dietary requests (medical or religious) are not always available.

Dress is casual; shorts and jeans are acceptable. We recommend bringing a light jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt, as the Reading rooms can become chilly at times. Reading sites are large, and comfortable walking shoes are a must.
