Educators in Indiana have access to ETS's Praxis tests to help them demonstrate their knowledge of content, pedagogy and instructional skills for their roles in Indiana schools.
How to qualify for licensure
For initial certification in Indiana, all candidates must:
- Establish an account in the online License Verification and Information System (LVIS).
- Complete an approved traditional or alternative path licensure program. Licensure in Career and Technical Education (CTE) areas also requires documented nonteaching occupational work experience.

- Provide proof of completion of suicide prevention training (must be at least 60 minutes). View resources.
- Submit and pay for the application.
- See Indiana's application quick links for standards forms and checklists for licensure.
