About the Praxis Tests
The Praxis tests measure a teacher candidate's knowledge and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching. Each Praxis assessment reflects what educators across the United States believe to be important for new teachers.
Praxis Core Tests
Measures the reading, writing and mathematics knowledge of candidates entering teacher preparation programs.
Praxis Subject Tests
Assesses the subject-specific content knowledge and teaching skills needed for licensure and certification.
Praxis Content Knowledge for Teaching (CKT) Tests
Measures Elementary Education subject matter content knowledge and the ability to apply it in a classroom.
