About the Praxis Subject Tests

Praxis Subject tests measure subject-specific content knowledge, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills, that K–12 educators need for beginning teaching. They include over 90 different tests ranging from Agriculture to World Languages.

Most of the tests, except for the Braille Proficiency test, are computer delivered. They range from 1 hour to 4 hours long and include selected-response questions, essay or constructed-response questions, or a combination of both question types. The number of questions and length of each test varies depending on the test. More information about each test is available in the Study Companions.
